fiery
pretty? It's so brightly coloured. technically, I think the background is not blurry enough. otherwise, the flower would stand out more. I need to get out and take more pictures!!
Gramm.rumphianum
erm...can I call it the ugly one? Actually, it's a wrench putting this up. I didn't like the orchid, mainly because of the colour and the patches. But it's different. Different from the other 'cutie' kinds which I think most people will like. So, here it is. It's beautiful in its own ways. oh, and it's quite difficult to take this because it's high up and keeps swaying in the breeze. My arms were aching after the shoot.
pathway
Yet another shot of a pathway. Where does it lead to? oh, I set out to the Bird Park to take pictures with a friend today. unfortunately, when I arrived, it started to pour like mad. So, I didn't take a single shot. sigh...
coconut trees
tall, tall, coconut trees...with their leaves swaying along with the wind. This was also taken at the Botanic garden. My previous photos give the 'garden' feel, but this is more of countryside, or the beach? heh
Den. Dawn Marie
I love this, the white and the orange. so pure yet there's vibrancy.
The road to green town
Well, so much for the colours of flowers. Here comes the green!
Dendrobium
Finally, I know the name of this. Dendrobium. It's a hybrid. Actually, the lighting for this isn't very good. I shld have waited for the clouds to pass or change my position altogether. But I still like it nevertheless. irony. ha!
Pink frangipani
Now, this is pink frangipani. Pretty, aren't they? They are supposed to be on trees, but someone must have arranged the fallen ones on top of the black charcoal beneath. The black charcoal were meant for the growth of orchids.
white whiskers
I love this, though I don't know it's name nor its specie. I was too engrossed in taking its picture that I forgot to note down its name. doesn't it look like whiskers? or what..?
caterpillar
hmm.... what's that insect? centipede?
swan lake
Swan lake at the Singapore botanic gardens. I was too tired yesterday, so I didn't post anything here. This is a backdated entry. Oh, this place is currently undergoing construction and there are only 2 swans there. pathetic...
little dog
Isn't it adorable?? heh... it's been a long time since I last took a macro shot. Since I haven't had the time to go out, I took a shot of this little dog to waste my batteries. ha!
The southern-most island
I've been really busy with work lately. argh....!! don't have time to take pictures!!! argh..... This is an old file.... A shot of the Southern-most island closest to the equater. It's off Sentosa.
railway
Taken along Bukit Timah road.
mystery
I feel that this picture evokes a mysterious feel. Do you think so?
orange orchid
Took this quite some time ago. Been busy lately, so no new photos. sigh... this is orange orchid from the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
sea creature
hmm..... what is this? I took this so long ago at the Underwater world. oops, I forgot its name.
Back alley
A shot of a back alley in Chinatown.
dried goods
Took this in secret outside a Chinese Medical Hall. impromptu. hehe... Not only can you find herbs in this Medical Hall, you can also find a variety of dried goods, such as dried abalone, dried fish, dried squid, dried scallops, dried seahorse, and many other seafood which I have no idea of...
railway stop
A railway stop near Bukit Timah road.
purple rain
purple rain... purple rain....
The Merlion again
I thought this was better. ??
The Merlion
My mum loves this picture. Actually, I don't know why.
The gate
A shot of the gate. The characters were written with gold paint and so it shines under the evening sun.
The 3 gods
Back to Haw Par Villa today. This is a shot of the three gods, namely the God of Longevity, the God of Wealth, and the God of Prosperity (left to right). So colourful isn't? That's one thing that attracts people. All the statues there are brightly coloured and children love to take pictures with them.
Upgrading nation
Another piece of art work along the underground tunnel, leading to the Esplanade.
What is art?
Do you agree?
Chinatown
Does this picture give you a sense of depth?
underground tunnel
This is possibly the best underground tunnel in Singapore. It has a travelator! well-lit, mirror wall and carpeted. It connects Fullerton hotel and Fullerton One. There you go... Fullerton hotel, that's why it's a pretty tunnel.
The way to Esplanade
took this while I was waiting for the fireworks. I'm quite depressed today actually.
Fabulous green
Actually, after some serious thinking, I think this is a better photo than the earlier one. Even though the previous orange fireworks has a better design, there's also smoke in the pic. This on the other hand, is more smoke free. argh.... it's so difficult to decide...Which is better? And, I submitted this photo to JPG magazine for the 'fabulous' theme.
orange fireworks
I bought my first tripod today! finally..... cost me S$48. Well, today's May Day and there's a celebration going on at the Esplanade. I went there and took a series of night photographs. I'll take a break from the Haw Par Villa series. This is my favourite shot of the fantastic fireworks show tonight. Expect more coming up.
